With this service CILEA aims to offer support to digitalisation of papers and documents. It includes training, consultancy for the choice of the hardware and software tools, and it can make available to universities specialised hardware and software tools. It is also possible to ask CILEA to manage directly the digitalisation processes.
This service is offered to libraries and document collections that have to start a digitalisation project.
Concerning training, CILEA offers two courses:designing the digital (4 days)
- Designing the digital (4 days)
- Working with the digital (2 days)
This courses are periodically held at CILEA, but it is possible for the customer to request a course.
Within the MiBAC project, CILEA has developed a software called CODEX[ml] the browsing of digital contents on the web. It allows to browse digital contents on the web (e.g. the digitised pages of an ancient book). It uses the structure described in the meta-data (the MAG standard is used). Customers are not required to pay a license to use this software.
