CILEA can manage outsourced automation systems for single libraries or systems of libraries based on software which is not (or not yet) certified to connect to the SBN network (see the section about SBN nodes).
The automation software can be chosen from several that are available, both Open Source and proprietary. In its Virtual Library service, CILEA maintains a list of commercial products and services. Here, all the companies and organisations that produce or distribute software for libraries in Italy are listed. The node currently managed are using the Aleph500 software by Ex-Libris.
The management in outsourcing includes all the activities described in the introduction to this section.
Currently CILEA manages the following non SBN nodes (ordered by activation date):
- Node of the universities of Milan-Bicocca and Insubria (software: Aleph 500, 9 libriaries, 29 maximum concurrent staff workstations) - access to the catalogue.
- Node of the University of Verona (software: Aleph 500, 41 libraries, 30 maximum concurrent staff workstations) - access to the catalogue.
- Node of IULM (software: Aleph 500, 4 libraries, 18 maximum concurrent staff workstations) - access to the catalogue.
