This software provides quick and complete information from the main bibliographical sources concerning medicine, biomedical and oriented research. It guarantees access to its bibliographical resources by public and private entities interested in managing health services and welfare-health, to students, researchers and operators of the regional council and public institutes.

CILEA has developed an integrated system. It allows one (or researchers) to search in bibliographical databases and allows the retrieval of the desired text, either in paper or electronic format.

Among the main targets reached by the service we can mention:

• retrieval and exchange of documents (articles in medical journals) for the users belonging to institutes that belong to the Sistema Bibliotecario Nazionale (National Library System).
• On-line consultation of the Collective Catalogue of Periodicals of the SBBL libraries
• Consultation of the most important and popular bibliographical databases in the biomedical field (Medline and Cinahl)
• Realisation of a regional virtual library with the most complete resource of subscribed magazines available to every institute belonging to the consortium. This would help restrain accelerating costs for each institute and the whole regional health system.
• Export of the acquired experience, of the instruments used and the products realised even in other national and international environments.
