What it is

The inter-university initiative STELLA (Statistica in Tema di Laureati e LAvoro - statistics about graduates and job) was born in 2002, thanks to the interest of a group of universities. It aims at building a database to monitor the characteristics of the paths of graduates along the courses and the monitoring of these same graduates after they enter the job market.

 

What it offers

At the moment, there are two initiatives within STELLA: 

• Investigation of the profile of the graduates. Articulated by university and disciplinary groups, it produces an annual report concerning all graduates of the last three years. It builds a profile of each graduate, according to his/her main characteristics, like: age of graduation, high school certificate, exams score, graduation score, regularity, duration of the studies. The last report produced, concerning the years 2003-2005, analyses a population of over 180.000 graduates.
• Post graduation occupational investigation. The project committee has decided to monitor the occupational outcome of the graduates about one -and a half years after graduation. The investigation is carried out by interviewing a meaningful sample of graduates and filling in a suitable form over the telephone. The last investigation, concerning the graduates in the II and III quarter of 2004 (interviewed in April 2006), has collected a statistically valid sample of 6277 graduates, among the 23,969 who have graduated during the period.

 

 

Whom is it aimed at

The initiative is open all interested universities.

 

How to take part

CILEA offers every Italian university the opportunity of using the services offered by STELLA. The universities taking part to the initiative remain the owners of the data and information. In order to partecipate in (perhaps better: participate in) STELLA it is not necessary to enter the CILEA Consortium: it is enough to subscribe to a convention between universities or a simple contract of service.
