On the 16th of April 2009 Christian Vergara has been honoured by the SIMAI with the first prize for the best Ph.D. thesis.

On the 16th of April 2009 Christian Vergara has been honoured by the SIMAI [1], the Italian Society for Industrial Applications of Mathematics, with the prize for the best PhD thesis in applied mathematics. His PhD. work, developed at Politecnico di Milano and discussed in March 2006 is entitled "Numerical Modeling of Defective Boundary Problems in Incompressible Fluid-Dynamics - Applications to Computational Haemodynamics". Christian Vergara is currently an assistant Professor at the University of Bergamo, and since 2005 is collaborating with CILEA on computational haemodynamics scientific projects [2].
